The Hydrogen permeation test consists of exposing the tube to a Nitrogen and Hydrogen mixture of known composition under conditions of pressure and temperature near working conditions. Thermal losses are measured before and after this test in order to characterize the effect of Hydrogen permeation in receiver thermal losses. The hydrogen permeated through the tube is known from the measurement of the gas composition inside the tube at the end of the test.
